I just wanted to say a special THANK YOU TO PARENTS AND COMMUNITIES for helping our schools and the children during these difficult times. I know that many of you are finding the new at home instruction challenging, yet you continue to press forward. I like to compare education to a three-legged stool, with the school (and everyone in it) one leg, parents another leg, and the community at large as the third leg. Remove anyone of the three legs and the stool will fall. Parents, you have helped keep the education going despite what is no doubt a tough time at home for a number of reasons.
Our communities at large have stepped in to help as well. We see companies who are working to provide free internet access to help with at home learning. Churches and civic groups are pitching in to help with meals for children who can’t access school lunch programs.
Again, thank you for helping children as educators teach virtually to continue with instruction, and especially to our parents who are helping to keep our students on task at home.
This renewed sense of partnership will make our schools even stronger once the crisis is over and life begins to return to some sense of normal.
